As most of you are aware, my stepdaughter Tina Marie LaRocca was in a horrible automobile accident Labor Day weekend. She suffered severe brain trauma. She was recently moved to Trinity Rehabilitation Center in Slidell, LA. I’ve been fortunate enough to talk to Dr. Paul Harch, a leader in treating brain injured patients with hyperbaric oxygen treatment personally. She is a definite candidate. (Dr. Harch’s website is http://www.harchhyperbarics.com/ )
I’ve read testimonials, researched, talked to doctors and know someone personally now who greatly benefited from hyperbaric treatment. I say all of this to say this: We found out yesterday that 20 treatments will cost $3,600.00 and she may need more. Her insurance will not pay for the treatment. I need you guys to help me raise this money either by donating what you can or asking your church, or whatever. I know there are children out there with needs and I’ve always done my best to help those children and now I ask for help for one of mine.
Jerry and I can’t do it right now because of all the medical bills we’ve incurred over the past year or I wouldn’t even ask. $3,600.00 doesn’t seem like a huge amount…unless you don’t have it. It could change Tina’s outcome completely ya’ll…it could give her the life she deserves back. Her doctor at Trinity agrees she could greatly benefit from hyperbaric treatment. I will forward an email from a nurse at my doctor’s office who was declared brain dead and received hyperbaric treatment AND IS NOW BACK TO WORK and living normally.
Please make checks/money orders payable to Trinity Rehabilitation Center. Trinity would not set up accepting payments there so send them to me and I will make sure they get applied to Tina. Please do not make checks payable to me but directly to Trinity Rehabilitation Center, they will credit her whatever she needs and in the event, there is money left after treatment it will be given to Tina upon leaving the facility. You can mail donations to me at: 15 Pecan Lane, Long Beach, MS 39560. If your church or anyone else needs any further documentation, please let me know.
I know some of you are able and some are not, those who are not please forward to someone who may be able to. My pride hurts in asking but this is for the sake of my husband’s child and my children’s sibling, I have to ask.
I thank each of you and I know you will do what you can. God bless you guys….

I want to add something to what I've already said...this accident has taught me that every moment with your child is valuable. Please stop long enough each day to hug, kiss and thank God for them. Do not take for granted their laughter, inquisitive minds, even the sound of their voice. I'd give anything to hear Tina's voice again, anything..and I will. Take time to cherish and appreciate these blessings God has given you. He has given you the privilege of taking care of them until they return home to Him. Do not take that for granted. And every time they walk out that door, let the last words you say be "I love you", no matter what...Now go hug your children.
